Privacy Policy
StorageCleaner processes photos, contacts, and storage insights on your iPhone. Optional Gmail Cleanup connects directly to Google only after you choose to sign in and grant access.
Short version: StorageCleaner is a review-first iPhone utility. Photos, videos, contacts, and local storage data are used to power cleanup features inside the app and are not uploaded for analytics. Optional Gmail Cleanup reads only the message metadata needed to show cleanup candidates and moves selected messages to Gmail Trash, never permanent deletion. We do not sell personal data, use advertising SDKs, or track you across apps or websites.
This Privacy Policy explains how StorageCleaner handles information when you use the app.
1. Information the app can access
The app may request permission to access the following data so features can work as intended. When access is needed, the native iOS permission sheet is shown. If you later deny access, the app can offer an Open Settings shortcut so you can restore it.
- Photos library for duplicate review, similar photo grouping, screenshot cleanup, blurry photo review, video compression, and local cleanup analysis.
- Contacts for duplicate or incomplete contact review.
- Local device storage information to show storage breakdowns and reclaimable space.
- Gmail account metadata, only if you enable Gmail Cleanup, to find and review promotions, spam, large messages, and old unread mail. This can include sender, subject, date, labels, message size, and Google message identifiers. StorageCleaner does not request message bodies or download attachments for this feature.
2. How data is used
Data accessed by the app is used only to provide cleanup, review, compression, diagnostics, and storage insight features inside the app.
StorageCleaner does not require you to create a MesikaLabs account. The optional Gmail Cleanup feature requires you to authenticate with your own Google account.
3. On-device processing
StorageCleaner is built so AI analysis and cleanup-related processing happen on-device. This includes tasks such as duplicate detection, similarity grouping, local analysis preparation, and related review workflows.
Your photos, videos, contacts, and storage information are intended to remain on your device while these features run.
4. Optional Gmail Cleanup
If you enable Gmail Cleanup, the app uses Google's OAuth authorization screen and requests the restricted gmail.modify scope. Communication is sent directly between the app on your device and Google's Gmail API; MesikaLabs does not operate an email-content server for this feature.
The app requests message metadata needed to show cleanup candidates, including sender, subject, date, labels, estimated size, and Google message identifiers. It does not request raw message content, message bodies, or attachments. OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain and are not included in analytics.
When you confirm cleanup, selected messages are moved to Gmail Trash. The feature does not permanently delete Gmail messages. You can use Undo immediately, and you can disconnect Gmail from the app to revoke and remove the locally stored authorization.
Your use of Gmail remains subject to Google's Privacy Policy. StorageCleaner's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
5. Privacy-preserving product analytics
StorageCleaner uses TelemetryDeck to collect limited, anonymous product analytics so we can understand whether onboarding, scanning, cleanup review, purchases, and other core workflows operate successfully.
Analytics events may include an anonymized installation identifier, app and system version, device type, event name, and deliberately coarse values such as item-count or reclaimable-space ranges. The identifier is not tied to an account or other direct identity, and analytics data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
We do not send photos, videos, contacts, filenames, media identifiers, search text, Gmail addresses, senders, subjects, message identifiers, email content, OAuth tokens, exact storage amounts, or free-form user content to TelemetryDeck. Gmail analytics are limited to coarse count or size ranges and fixed workflow names. IP addresses are not stored by TelemetryDeck. TelemetryDeck processes analytics data on European infrastructure. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy for provider details.
6. Data sharing and tracking
We do not sell personal data, use third-party advertising SDKs, or share photos or contacts for marketing. We do not use analytics for cross-app tracking, advertising, or data-broker profiling, and StorageCleaner does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
7. Purchases
If StorageCleaner offers paid features, subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment details or Apple ID credentials.
8. Your choices
You can revoke Photos or Contacts access at any time in iOS Settings. You can disconnect Gmail from inside StorageCleaner or revoke StorageCleaner's access from your Google Account security settings. Some features may stop working until access is restored. If you previously denied access, the app may direct you back to Settings to recover the blocked feature.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page.
